ACT

ACT

The ACT® test was developed by the American College Testing Program.  The ACT exam has four sections: English, Mathematics, Reading and Science.  The maximum score is a 36.  The ACT test is used to screen college applicants.  All students under 21 are required to have a National ACT score as part of the admission process.  Some other reasons a student might need a National ACT are:

  • applying for scholarships
  • concurrent enrollment students
  • health science majors
  • removing course deficiences

There are two types of ACT (National and Residual).

National ACT

Northern Oklahoma College-Enid administers the National ACT on all six test offerings.  National scores may be used at any institution.  Students who wish to register for the National ACT test may do so online.  For more information about the National ACT and to register visit http://www.actstudent.org/ ACT online.

Residual ACT

Northern Oklahoma College-Enid offers an on-campus or Residual ACT on a bi-monthly basis.  Results from this residual test may be used at NOC only.  High school students who wish to take concurrent enrollment classes will have to take the National ACT.  All students may only take the ACT Residual test  ONCE during the year in which the respective ACT Residual examination is valid (November 1 through October 31) and the test date shall not coincide with a national ACT test date.

  • Students must pre-register prior to the test date by contacting the testing center and meet eligibility requirements.
  • Students must complete the admission process prior to the test date.
  • Cost is $40.00 payable the day of the test (cash, check, money order, or credit card).
  • A photo ID is required for admission to the test.
