     NOC trip to Crystal Bridges Museum set for Fri, Nov 16 - NOC employees, students and community members may join the Northern Oklahoma College bus trip to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark., according Audrey Schmitz, NOC Art Department head and trip director. The trip is free for all NOC employees and students. The bus will depart from behind the Creative Arts Building on the NOC Tonkawa campus at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov 16 and will return at approximately 10:30 p.m.
     For community members, the cost for this community enrichment event and transportation is $15, which includes free admission to the museum. Travelers will be responsible for their lunch and dinner meal expense. To reserve a seat on the tour bus, enroll in CMTY 9068 Museum Experience through the Registrar.      The museum, founded by Alice Walton (daughter of WalMart founder Sam Walton) and designed by Moshe Safdie, officially opened Nov. 11, 2011. According to the museum’s website, “Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art welcomes all to celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of landscape. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting and preserving outstanding works that illuminate our heritage and artistic possibilities.”
