NOC Veterans Day Receptions to honor all who have served set for Nov. 12

     “Veterans make up a valued part of Northern Oklahoma College. We would like to publicly display and extend our gratitude, appreciation and thanks to all veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. So, in observance of Veterans Day 2012, NOC will host Veterans Day Receptions on all three campuses Monday, Nov. 12.
     “We would like to encourage all veterans to attend so we can thank them for the sacrifices they have made for our freedom,” said Brad Gordon, NOC Veteran Services coordinator.
     The come and go event will be held from 10 to 11a.m. in the Magnolia Room on the Tonkawa campus and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Gantz Center/ GU100 on the Enid campus. The Stillwater campus reception will be from 3-4 p.m. in Cowboy Mall Room 190. A light reception fare will be provided at no cost to attendees, courtesy of NOC, and patriotic lapel pins will be given away while the supply lasts.
     Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which is being held to honor local veterans in the Tonkawa, Enid and Stillwater areas.
     A Wall of Honor has been established on the NOC Web site. This on-line “Wall of Honor” recognizes veterans of the NOC community. If you are an NOC student, NOC employee, NOC Alumni, or a community resident that has served in the US Armed Forces and wish to be listed, please contact Brad Gordon, NOC Veteran Services coordinator at (580) 628-6224 or brad.gordon@north-ok.edu. Also, Brad Gordon will be available at the receptions to answer questions about veteran’s education benefits.
